When I did my first timing belt on a Z6 in a EG My brother fab-ed me a Crank Pully Holding tool...

He cut a 6 sided 2" diamiter hexagon out of 1/2" steel and welded it to a bar of steel. Cut a round hole in the hexagon wa-la...

note this tool goes for $70 at summit....

i say build the crank tool, it is very nice to have one.

if not think of something your car needs or one of your buddy needs. like say a catch can, or a small re location bracket of some sort. it would be cheap....

steel prices aren't high right now....We just turned in our scrap for 105 a ton, 6 months ago it was above 200 a ton.....

I vote for the pulley holding tool

Just because scrap price is down that doesn't mean that the price to purchase steel is down, which by the way it isn't...

New shifter, if you have access to a lathe. Shift ****, steering wheel hub for aftermarket wheel, trailing arm bushing tool, tie rod end tool.
