Fuel Cell
Here is a fuel cell we made for our True Street Civic:
Aluminum fuel cell that we made has a fuel gauge sender to work with the factory gauge cluster and utilizes factory fill location.
Upgraded our fuel system and decided to go big with it all.

looks good. i'd add some rubber or something between the straps and the tank, although it looks like you've already compensated for that with the gap. i'd probably do the straps in stainless as well.
Aluminum doesn't recover from flexing like steel does. It might snap.

Whenever I fabricate something that I have little experience with, I ALWAYS copy the guys that know what they're doing. Not like you're gonna try and sell them on H-T for $500 cheaper than the professional manifold fabricat... wait wut?
Now really isn't the time for more companies to just be copycatting other companies. The economy has
tanked very hard if no one has noticed. All you are doing is pushing even harder for the import scene to go
under when you copy another persons hard work. Unfortunately what little of a market there still is, is not
sustainable by multiple people selling the exact same thing, especially if someone is undercutting the price
tag (I really hope that's not what is going on here).
I for one would stick with the original FCSfab fuel cell. You really have
to admire the person who went out on a ledge to do something different than everyone else, devoted their
time, money, sweat, blood and tears to it and made it happen. FCSFab is a stand up company and surely
has my vote!

If you were reffering to me I purchased a fcs cell about a month ago! But I agreed with you 100%
Now the people who undercut others in business, are scum (unless original company was providing a poor product or poor service).
agreed, if your going to the trouble of making something yourself it only makes sense to build it as good as possible. Im sure the companies dont really mind when the hardcore diy-ers copy their products because its not like they're the kinds of people who are gonna be spending money on buying their product anyways.

For me, it isn't even about being able to afford buying other's products, it's more about the fact that I would rather fabricate something over buying it, just because I'm a freak about making stuff.
to be on topic, is there a certain alloy to avoid when making fuel tanks for gasoline? What about for the high end fuels q16, alcy, etc? concerned mostly about contamination of the fuel itself i know Al is pretty tough when it comes to corrosion resistance.
the reason i ask is because a friend wants me to put together a gas tank for his cb750
