Nice man, I have always considered doing something simular to that to have a very smooth look inside my engine bay also, only thing is, it would be a nightmare getting it clean for all the bondo and fiberglass.

the stripping isint that bad its all the welding grinding and sanding that kills you and i hate bodywork but it will be worth it when people wonder how it runs

i did something along those lines to an old car of mine a year or two back, painted the bay everything was nice, and i almost threw up when i put the motor back in big gash on the framerail lol. be careful! haha, looks great though i'm doing the exact same thing to my coupe right now can't wait to see the finished product!

That's looking awesome cstay! kudos for doing such a good job. Just out of curiosity are you using that ramhorn manifold you posted a pic of before, the one you made?

Can you explain a little how you did it?
I think the first is to weld all the holes - and then? Have you took tin and then fibreglass - or just fibreglass?

How have do you want to solve the problem with rust behind the welds, where you can´t add a corrosions protection fluid?

A lot of people here in Germany clean there engine bays and it mostly looks great.
Respect for that work!

basically weld all of the bolt holes shut and for the holes that are to big just cut a piec and weld it in grind it down and put fiberglass over it. im not the best at bodywork hopefully it comes out looking good.

and as for jessie this is where i got my insperation to do it to my car keep a look out for a sick *** hatch in the AZ area

when you say fiberglass... are you talking about the everglass putty stuff? or did you lay down a peice of clith with resin? id be worry about the clotch/resin combo cracking under torsion/flexing.

im debating doing this to mine, just get a cheap mig and some everglass and goto town

Cracking of the fibreglass caused by torsion/vibration is what I´m a little worried about.

How are your experiences in this case?
