You're asking a very vague question... so you're going to get vague answers. Most use mild steel, followed by 304 stainless, then 321, and even fewer then that use Inconel.

Well what I was looking for was the thickness of the metal. I have a blown 2002 hyundai accent and my stock exhasut is extremly restrictive. Its not really goign to be supporting any more weight then normal like a turbo or anything, so my question was like what gauge, would 16 be okay? Also I am going to be mig welding everything, I dont own a tig :/ but it should turn out alright. I just want some better flow, I am planning on 2.5 all the way back with high flow converter.
