Default ys1 countershaft s/ring

Ok so can you guys give me some advice on how to get the snap ring located at the end of the countershaft to fit(Tranny is a from a b18a ys1)?? Do you slide it into the housing itself(when I do this the bearing get stuck on the snap ring instead of passing over it), or do you place it on the top ball bearing and then try and slide the housing over it(wont fit)?? Im not sure were to put the snap ring. Just need a little direction, or possibly a new snap ring, this one is a little distorted.

some can be stuborn especially if you have distorted them. are you spreading the ring completly?then give the top of the case some taps with a rubber or plastic mallet.

I was giving it some good "taps" lol. Before you put the cases together do you put the snap ring on the top bearing of the counter shaft or do you put it in the actual casing. This may seem kinda dumb but could you explain exactly what you do? Thanks

that ring is fine, just needs spread while dropping the case on.

leave the snap ring in the casing. i dont know how the actual qualified honda tech does it but here is how i did mine..just put the case over..before u spread the snap ring, tap the case until u visually see the snap ring touches the bearing, then spread the ring..and while u spread it,tap the case until the snap ring slide thru the bearing.
