Default Weighted shift ***** bad for transmission...true or false?

Whats up everyone, I am currently running a Skunk2 shift **** in my car. Its weighted to 440 grams. Loving the look and feel of it plus the weight. Every shift just feels positive and smooth. Now I have read/heard that a weighted/heavy shift **** is bad for the tranny/gears/etc. Some say all good while others swear its detrimental. Whats the truth behind this? Personally I dont buy into it but just to have peace of mind, id like to know for sure. Thank you for any help/input.

Short shifter or weighted ***** don't damage the tranny, the idiot rowing through the gears does all the damage.

Well said, lol. I can't see any way a weighted shift **** can damage ur tranny by just being put on your shifter, its def user error/abuse that damages it.

It may wear on the shift forks and sliders. Like resting your hand on the shifter.
