So the other day i was pulling away from a stop sign in my civic and it seamed to pop outta gear while i was pulling away, so i ended up coming to a stop. I played with it and it seams go into all 5 gears and reverse just fine but the car doesnt go anywhere. the speedo works aswell but it just revs up. also it goes into gear without the clutch no problem. my first thought was my axel may have popped out. so i replaced my axel(witch was bad to begin with) and still no luck. i have it on the lift at my work and i can put it into gear and the wheels will spin freely with the car in gear. at this point im thinking i may have blown the diff? any thoughts? any and all help will be greatly appreciated Thanks (oh and by the way i drive a 94 civic si)

 

were you pulling away or launching the **** out of it lol?

if the speedo goes up the diff is still spinning... check the other axle, even if it looks like its fine i might be broke in the boot.

 

Even though both wheels are spinning freely while the car is still in gear, it could still be the other axle?

 

with an open diff yes.

 

i was under the impression that the si tranny had lsd, no?

 

Very few jdm d15b trans came with LSD but no us sohc trans did.
