Transmission Problem
My engine build was just finished. My transmission was working fine before I was able to take it to 8600 rpms with no problems shifting. When I did the rebuild I purchased a new Competition Stage 5 4 puck sprung, competition 12 pound flywheel, new Throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and mfactory shifter bushings. Only thing changed in the trans was a bad input shaft bearing. I'm running Honda MTF.
When my trans was apart I was told 3rd and 5th had a little bit of damage, but that my 2nd and 4th were perfectly fine.
Now my problem is when I try to shift into 2nd or 3rd at 8800 rpms it's blocking me out. I had no issues before going to 8600. Yes, I'm making power up to 8800 rpms. Even shifting at 8500 won't let me in, and 8000 is very rough to get in.
Driving normal I have no issues. Anything below like 7500 goes in like butter. I haven't tried shifting into 4th or 5th at 8800 mainly because 3-4 is going to be over 90 mph and 4-5 is going to be over 120mph according to mfactory.
I don't want to spend $100s of dollars rebuilding the trans if that isn't the issue. I was told it could also possibly be the clutch.
Does anybody have any ideas what could be wrong here..?

Yep. I replaced the input shaft bearing in the clutch housing (measured the old one to the top of the case, and the new one to the top of the case to make sure they were the same install height - and bearings almost always are).
Other than that, cleaned out the casings, and inspected the gearsets for wear. 3rd had significant wear on sleeve and gear, and 5th's wear was substantial on both the sleeve and gear. All hubs were actually in good shape (no scoring).
When I heard that it was locking out of both 2nd and 3rd, I instinctively thought clutch. Then I read the notes I had taken down for the condition of this S4C trans, and saw that 2nd was fine, which reinforced the thought.

Well we adjusted the clutch pedal out, and now I only have an issue with 3rd, so I guess I'm going to go ahead and replace everything related to 3rd gear since it's only $300. If that doesn't solve 3rds issue I will be contacting CC again about getting a replacement clutch.
