Default Syncromesh

Okay so I just got my eg a few days ago and I want to flush out the trans fluid. I've heard syncromesh somewhere before, and now I search here and I only find a few posts and people are kind of 50/50 on using it. What are your opinions on it, if you suggest against it, why and what would you recommend?

Amsoil MTF
GM Synchromesh FM
Honda MTF
Motul Motylgear
Pennzoil Synchromesh
Redline MTL
Torco MTF

Pick one, try it, and see how you like it. If you don't, move on to another. If your transmission is in good shape and doesn't get abused, you'll see very little difference between the fluids for all intents and purposes. It's more important to change the fluid regularly and service bearings/synchros as they need replaced, IMO.

But yes... I use Pennzoil Synchromesh in my personal DD - 370 whp, 11.3-second stock-block GSR setup. I've run Honda MTF, Amsoil MTF, and Motul Motylgear, as well. The Pennzoil Synchromesh has been the best bang for the buck given how often I change it, and is incredibly easy to find.

Very nice! I'll give that a try, and service intervals are my thing man, I'm a manager at a lube place for now. I get that **** next to nothing, oil is changed every 1500-2000 miles lol. I'm definitely more of a "maintain rather than replace" kind of guy. So you like pennzoil huh, How'd you like the Amsoil?

no Redline MTL or MT-90.....or current Honda MTF.

Most of my OBX were using Synchromesh without issues, I've never heard back from them, which is a GOOD thing!!!!

Torco RTF in race applications, and Torco MTF or Honda MTF in DD.

We have Torco MTF and RTF - PM me for prices. Here is some info on the Torco transmission oils:

Torco MTF (Manual Transmission Fluid) is a API GL4 light viscosity oil and is highly recommended for high performance street applications in Honda transmissions.

Torco RTF (Racing Transmission Fluid) is 100% synthetic rated API GL6. It provides superior shear resistance and extreme temperature stability. RTF is specially formulated to exceed the load-carrying and extreme pressure wear properties of higher viscosity gear oils.

I've used GM Synchromesh and did feel a difference in shifting compared to Honda MTF. Seems as Honda MTF is a thinner oil compared to the GM Synchromesh.

yeah, it ruins bearing cages.

Stick with 10w30 or Synchromesh.
