skunk2 short shifter

Default skunk2 short shifter

just bought a dual bend shifter
its got 2 small deep scratches of the ball joint area
will it affect shifting?
or will it be ok?

im going to be using ES shifter bushings
and itr shift linkage

Damn, well if its new I would definately return it but if you lubricate it properly, I'm guessing its like my BMW and sits some were and functions with the ball (like a fulcrum)..sorry if confusing...it won't be a huge problem. Its still a ball and isn't odly shaped.

I say lube it properly if you can't return it and it'll be alright, also make sure you lube it with the correct lube that won't pick up a lot of dirt.

exactly. just make sure some of the marks don't have extremely raised or sharp edges that would cut into the plastic crown 'cage' that holds the ball. but, otherwise, as mentioned, a healthy lube job with white lithium grease will keep that thing working just fine.

and, if you haven't already, OP i suggest you get yourself some prothane or energy suspension shifter bushings. they really make a great difference and are pretty cheap.
