Default Reverse gear issues

Mainshaft and countershaft are now successfully installed. Inevitably, I ran into another problem. The reverse gear doesn't seem to be engaging when we put the linkage into reverse, is this because the transmission is vertical when it is normally horizontal, or am I missing something?

Spin the main shaft slow with pressure going into reverse. If it doesn't go in you have an issue.

Put the case on and seat the snap ring, use a couple of bolts to secure it, then try benchshifting.
