Mild EK build CLUTCH OPINION
I'm doing a mild turbo build in my 98 EK Civic, LSVTEC with a power goal of 250hp. The next obstacle on my list is to purchase a clutch kit. I've been looking at the Clutchmasters FX500 that costs $350 and will completely satisfy my needs. But I once built a D16Z6 and ran 10psi on a XTD clutch kit for 2 years with no problems. So long story short, can anyone suggest a more affordable option for my power goal? It will be strictly street driven (no racing/drag) and I would rather spend the extra money on other needed items for fuel management etc.

Do you have a donor clutch setup? You can always swap the disk for a more aggressive friction material and keep your used pressure plate. If you go to ACT's site there is a tool that shows you the difference between using their regular, heavy, and extreme pressure plates with each of their friction materials so you can get an idea of how much power you can hold through a mismatched setup.
