Default interlock giude bolt

hey guys i was just curious, when i place my main and countershaft down in the housing the diy's ive read say that the shift forks need to be lined up so that all are in nuetral. other forums say that first gear needs to be engaged but when i did that everything locked up and wouldnt move. so how are the interlock and knuckle supposed to be set in the shift forks before i reattach the casing.

interlock guide bolt is the LAST to be installed, after countershaft is locked in.

done right it won't matter.

I always use neutral, as that is how my trannys end up AFTER bench shifting.
