Snapped Shift Linkage Bolt, help please.
hey guys, I was driving on the freway the other day and as I downshifted to catch an exit, I heard a loud noise and immediately knew a bolt had popped off somewhere. sure enough, I pulled into a gas station and noticed my shift linkage dragging. luckily I was able to drive home. however, the next day as I was torquing down a replacement bolt, the head of the bolt snapped off and now the bolt is lodged in there. any ideas? I got a bolt extractor, but I can not get a good angle as my downpipe from my header and flex pipe are in the way. I should also add I have an energy bushing and it's really stiff once I mock it up. I was thinking of taking it to a mechanic and having him just weld another smaller bolt to the chipped off bolt and maybe get it out. thanks in advance guys.

is the center of that linkage threaded? or is there a way you could slide it off so you can get a better grip on it
also what year is your car, or what engine/trans?

yes, it is threaded. it is a 12mm bolt. I can slide the bushing off because the head of the bolt is not holding it in place, unfortunately there is nothing to grip. the bolt is lodged inside with nothing sticking out. it's a LS motor in a 2000 Civic, LS transmission.
