i found a usdm 98type r transmission with 190000 mile....guy wants 600 for it....say it shift good...but when i went a check out the transmission...by hand turning the input shaft. you can hear a clicking noise or a low sparking noise....is that normal for a lsd type r transmission...............

 

is it worth the 600 for a type r tranny with that many miles

 

The LSD alone is worth 400 and if it has 4.7 Yea its worth it. But the clicking noise is most likley a stripped gear or Stripped Main/Counter Shaft teeth. When you turn it by hand is the Mainshaft really stirdy or moves around in a circle? If so new Bearings too. Most Likley its worth like 300-400 and is need of a Rebuild

 

i guess its not worth it then.....ill offer him 300 see if he'll want it
