Gearbox problem..Ctr EP3
So the noise I’ve been hearing. It’s when you are doing engine braking mainly, or if you are coasting along doing 30 in 3rd. Each time you let the momentum of the car turn the engine the noise get audible. It sounds a bit like a grinding noise, possibly bearings. If you just gently touch the accelerator it almost disappears..I heard that it is possible that the bearings are making noise(Input shaft bearings)if someone had a similar problem?Car is Civic Type R Ep3 2004 95.000km..6 speed..
if you get out of gear can you hear the noise? ive been having the same issue after i had my 3rd gear TSB done. I drive an acura tl and when i do the same thing i can hear it usually when my RPM hits around 2000 - 1500 RPMs. I took it in twice and the tech does not know what it is. Can you still hear this after the car warms up? for me the noise is not severe after the car has warmed up.

Marxx... I have exactly the some problem mate... you are not alone. Honda have had my car 3 times..... yes 3 times and told me there is nothing wrong and the tech cannot hear anything.... I had to take the woman on the customer service desk out in the car to prove I wasnt hearing things.
Have you found out whats causing the problem?
Mine is going to another garage shortly where they are going to check the Gearbox. I have heard that a cracked engine engine mount can cause a very similar noise. So its worth checking both.
If you find anything out... let us know.
