Default Is this fixable

So I inadvertantly dropped the vss bolt in the trans, drove it thru all the gears for about 2 miles losing the oil.
I intend having it rebuilt but do you think the case could be salvaged by welding it or should I forget about it ?

if you remove all oil contaminates from the area you could probably even JB Weld it back together
