updated results

runs at Fontana speedway
1300ft above sea level, similar track conditions and air temperature
2500lbs 93 integra w/driver

previous time:
ys1 (92-93 gs-r) gearing and 4.4 FD
-14.0@99, 2.1 60ft,
crossed the trap around 7200-7300 rpm

new time:
mF 3.070 first gear, 92-93 gs-r 2,3,4 gearsets and mF 4.928 FD
-13.7@101 2.1 60ft,

i'm crossing the finish line now around 8300 rpm or so.

COMMENTS: i was having a hard time breaking into the 13's with my previous transmission setup, either i'm a sucky driver, the track is slow, my motor is weak, or my car is too heavy. i would always run 14.0-14.2 all day long like a bad curse.

first clean run of the day with the new gearset I hit 13.7, and backed it up with a 13.8. nothing else was changed on the car. I will have to focus on getting my 60ft's down now.

overall, the 4.928 works on my setup, and i'd have to recommend one to anyone who is not trapping higher than 110-112 on a 22" tire

i'm sure its even more beneficial to someone on a bigger tire as well

I'm suprised to see that there wasn't a change in 60ft time /w the 3.070 1st

did it feel better off the line?

with the addition of the 4.928 final drive..... a 3.070 first gear brings first gear back down to "OEM" specs.

wow, so with the stock 1st and a 4.9 final first gear is really short. Congrats on the new time and good luck dropping that 60ft. Took me a while to drop mine.

i would definitely say a 3.070 is almost mandatory on a 4.9FD. it also brings the 1-2 gears closer together.. less chance of grinding or missing, and also keeps your momentum up

fisha, if you are talking about me,

its a 11.5 compression 89x81mm b-series with about 200ish whp
weight is 2500 w/ driver on BFG drag radials

and yes, i know the 60ft has to be reduced, i'm also not planning to result to slicks to take the easy way out yet either.

reeem: first question is what is your rev limit set to?
and how long are you on the limit before you cross the finish line?

as for what you are doing, you might want to consider a 4.05 FD or 25" slicks, but i wouldn't necessarily change the 4th gear to a taller gear

try a gs-r trans or a 4.05 FD in your b16 tranny..

depending on how soon you are hitting the rev limiter, maybe 25" slicks will be all you really need
