Since Aquafina (MIA) and me has runout issues with OBX I've not installed a new one, only serviced one that I'd installed a few years prior.

I've yet to have to shim a MFactory diff that I've installed. I believe I've installed 4 now and each one had the "extra" clearance I prefer. Stock clearance is .000-.004" while I prefer .004-.008" on any performance application.

Install speedo ring gear and diff bearing, check overall width, install diff into case then check clearance with feeler gauge, I've yet to change the diff shim.

But you ALWAYS must take the steps to check the clearances, it doesn't take but 15 minutes or less.
