Default Ctr tranny problem

The reverse gear on my ctr tranny started popping out when i try to reverse all the other gears work fine no pop outs or grinds really smooth shifting. I checked my shift linkage and everything is perfectly fine i even put in reverse manually with the car raised to see if that will work and it still pops right out. But i am able to reverse if I keep my hand on the shifter keeping it from popping out and balancing the clutch but even during that if i release the clutch fully it will pop out

any ideas on what it can be?

I know the synchro for reverse is next to 5th gear, but how does it work? I mean, isn't the reverse gear part of the 1/2 slider?

1/2 slider, mainshaft, and reverse idler gear. What is the R synchro on? The mainshaft... Get it? Synchro doesn't have to be sitting on the gear for it to slow the gear down.

Now another question my buddy just told me that he has a very clean 00 b16 tranny and im welcomed to use any part of it i need now my question is the Synchro/synchro spring. interchangble with the CTR one ? if not would be the a GSR one? because i highly doubt i can get my hands on CTR tranny or ITR parts well at least in the time frame i gotta get this done...

Both are interchangable.

B16 vs. GSR/ITR, the 3-4 slider and hub are mounted different.

Also GSR/ITR use a double synchro second, never tried to interchange that.

I don't swap parts like that on B's, I fix what is broken, maybe why I don't work on as many.....which IMHO is a good thing!

B16 is dual cone 2nd as well.

I'll test fit a ITR 1/2 hub on a GSR shaft. Don't see why it would be any different.

I don't see why you dislike working on B's, I love working on them. A lot of interchangability that I've found playing around with them.
