Default Built automatic

Just doing some random surfing and came across this link for a shop that builds honda automatic transmissions. I'm assuming carbon synchros, manual valve bodie, things like that. Does anyone have any experience with these or even heard of one actually being used??? I know its pretty pointless, we know what the stock manuals can hold and its not allowed in sfwd or true street. I just thought it was cool

Unfortunately Carbon synchros only work in Manual transmissions. There are no synchros in an Automatic transmission.

You could look into torque converter upgrades, valve body, trans cooling might be helpful if you plan to run high hp. I'm pretty sure there isnt really a lot of options for older honda auto trans, but I dont deal with them so I'm not sure.

As James said, auto's dont have synchro's so thats out of the question for you.

First off, you need to specify a car, an engine, a transmission, and your current and/or desired power level.

Automatics can be very powerful and also cheap to build and modify. Since you have what seems to be a scattered understanding of automatics in general, I suggest you view my thread on automatic transmissions:

If you have questions after that, PM me, or create a thread if you believe your thread will have merit.

I'm not interested in buying or using one (yet), I just came across the IPT(Import Performance Transmisson) website and was wondering if anyone has used it. Surely they wouldn't have spent all the time and $$$ developing it if there was no aftermarket for it. Here's the link Honda Acura Complete Performance Transmission

They can be, but Honda automatics don't really fall under those categories. They aren't a planetary design so it's hard to make them strong, and parts are hard to find and expensive. A Honda automatic is more or less a manual with clutch packs and a valve body.

Planetary gears do not equal strength. Many helical automatics (like the 90's Turbo DSM's) can put down over 500whp without breaking a sweat with basic oil pump and valve body modification. You cannot discredit a transmission based on the type of gearing alone.

After all, don't manual B-series transmissions handle comparable power? Just food for thought.

The B7XA and its variants are quite strong. From the factory line pressure problems and some leaky valve plugs plagued the units, but some simple modifications with aftermarket kits can add a lot of durability to them. Porting clutch exhaust and relocating lube ports will make these shift great. Positive, quick. You will lose some "comfort" in doing this though. Can't speak much for the K myself.
