Default B Series Final Drive Install

I have a spare GSR trans that I've taken completely apart and put back together. It seems pretty easy and I think it would be hard to screw up. I'm planning to install a 98 Spec Type R FD in my USDM R trans. The trans is new and only has 20k on it. I don't want to destroy it. Is there anything I need to know before installing a new FD into a transmission? Clearances that I need to double check?

I tried searching here and on Google and I got too many mixed results.

Thanks in advance,
Frankie

You have to change out first gear, the collar, and the bearing when using the 98 spec 4.7 FD, other than that follow the Helms manual. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Press the easy button and get an MFactory 4.7 or 4.9 FD. Straight bolt-in with no other parts needed and stronger than the OEM 4.7 with a better tooth profile. It also has a warranty. Get in touch with me if you have any questions about it or want to order.
