auto trans problem

Default auto trans problem

anybody in this section have good knowlede on a 1986 accord automatic trans?? my car wont shift out of first when cold? its ok when warmed up but still whines. you can email me if you want at billygcustoms86@comcast.net
im looking for a possible honda mech who can help me check any basics first
thanks in advance... (i see there is a classic section on this form and will post there, just trying to get this out to as many guys as possible)

The first thing to check is the throttle valve cable adjustment. This is the cable that connects to the lever on the transmission and controls line pressure. If the cable is too tight or is sticking, it will affect the way the trans shifts.
