Default 4.785 vs 4.92 FD

A final drive 4.785 OR 4.92 will get a fast time in drag race on b16a engines built with s2 pro1 cams revs to 9500.
I am satisfied with the top speed in every gear by calculating the speed by ( teammfactory gear calculating ).

go with a 4.9FD since you have a b16 i doubt you make enough power to have to shift into 5th gear where a 4.7 might make a little more sense

Yea...4th gear by 4.9 @ 9300 190km ...
O don't need more than that at tip speed .
I have tested 4.7 befor in another engine it was awesome and I have tested close gear ratios and it's cool ..just didn't test the 4.9 fd ,
That was in a b20vtec revs to 9k now this setup will rev to 9500 and the b16 have no torque so I think 4.9 will be fine ... Any experience ?

Ran a stock block B20Vtec with a 4.9 in a street car so I didn't have as much RPM as a B16...Was able to make it in top of 4th gear at around 8800 IIRC on 22" slicks with no problem. Keep in mind that any loss of traction is going to change things But, if you make good traction, you will be fine.

Take a look at this thread. Mostly targeted at Autocross though.

My impressions of my new ATS 4.929 final drive...

Curious, at what rpm does your power peak? revs to 9500rpm means nothing if your peak is 8000 or so.
You need to study your torque graphs in each gear and set your shift points off of that information. Give or take a few hundred rpm.
Good rule of thumb is 200rpm past peak hp to shift.
