Default zex nitrous

I got a used zex kit. He said it did not work right but thought it was because they had loose connections in their wiring. I looked at there install, and went my the instructions on the zex.com website. I have the red wire from the box going into the inside of the car and hooked up to a switch, the white wire goes to the middle red wire on the tps that has the voltage go up from little less than 1 to over 4 when I open the throttle and the black wire is grounded. This is an older style kit. It has a purple box, has no lights or switches on the box at all. Now if I do the test like it says on the zex.com site it will not click (or spray!), but if I hold the pedal to the floor and hit the switch, it will. Like the wires are backwards. So i tried them with the red and white switched and it would not work at all either way. I decided to test it out driving and the only way it will spray is if the throttle is at WOT and I kick the switch. If I arm it and then hit WOT it does nothing. I read GaryO's thread and it looks like I have the older style box. Is there a way to reset it or did I do something wrong that the old one does diffrent?

Update: I was told I was running to small gauge of wire to the box so: O.k. I put the bigger gauge wires on and still did not work. I then wired in a relay to see if that would help. Still will not kick on. The tps is reading over 4.3 volts. Measured the resistance on grounds and power wires and there is not much at all. I would just say since it is used and the box is not working it is bad it is just it wll kick on if I have the pedal to the floor and then kick the switch. But then it will only spray for a few seconds. I am taking this in trade so should I tell the owner it is no good? I have triple checked everything and I am at a loss. Any other suggestions?

Have you talked to Zex? Maybe its a faulty Purple Box. I think I read your post on the D-series board and Mista bone was helping you. If he doesnt know then the only person that would is probably a Tech for zex.
