Default z6 block = a6 block?

I was just wondering if the d16z6 block is the same as the z6 block. Right now i have a z6 in my car and i have a spare a6 and I plan on having it sleeved so i just want to make sure that there are the same and that it will work out. Thanks

a6>z6. a6 block has steel mains. If you sleeve a block sleeve the a6.

all you do is pull a little restrictor plug out of the deck surface. Much easier than a ls vtec in that respect.

So other than that everything will work, valve clearances and what not. I just want to make sure before i go and drop a whole lot of money into this.

Yes, compression will be slightly higher w/ the z6 head though. Here
http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm Compression will be about .6 higher with the z6 head.
