z 10 girdle?
i dont personally see a point to installing a girdle if you're not going to go through the process of having it and your main caps machined. without the pins your girdle is only sitting over your main caps. with pins, its actually trying to hold your main caps in position.
so why go without machining? if its to save time and money then dont even bother with a girdle.

guess i will add to this since i just saw your other post
your machinist should check your align bore after machining for the girdle. it would only make sense to me that you or your machinist check your bearing clearances after installing the girdle because the extra torque required on the bolts for the mains/block girdle can decrease your clearances in your main bearings.
my clearances personally were not enough to need to switch bearing sizes because my clearances were on the loose side before the girdle. i forget what they were after, but check yours anyway!
