Default ys1 transmission problems...still

i posted this problem i am having a few months ago and still am at a loss. i think the problem is that my ys1 trans locked up. i drained the fluid and there were metal flakes in the fluid. before the trans locked up, it was grinding in between gears and would pop out of 3rd quite often. when i have the car in gear (with e-brake off) and try to accelerate, it will go a few inches and then jerk to a stop. it does this in all gears including reverse. i have been looking around for trans repair at some local shops and the price range is way out of my budget. anyone ever have similar problems with their trans? the setup is a b16a1 with the ys1 trans.

the price to fix it would be more than to just buy another used one

He's probably right. The only way to diagnose it is to open it up and see what failed. If you're not in the position to do that, it's probably best to have a used one installed.
