Default Would this intake work?

as we all have hear of the front mount INTake that mounts in the front bumper that looks like an intercooler, but not quite like it. i'm wondering is it possible to use an INTERCOOLER in place of the INTAKE filter component that came with the kit?. I have always wondered that, but since i have no tech skills i don't know if that would cause water and dust to be sucked easily and directly into my engine. please let me know if this is possble. any suggestions would b greatly appreciated . Car is a 3dr ek9.

It would be pointless since the purpose of an intercooler is to cool hot compressed air down toward ambient air temperature before it enters the intake manifold. If you're already drawing an intake charge at ambient air temperature, and it's not being compressed(heated) by a turbo, there's no reason to pass that charge though an air-to-air intercooler. All it would do is add more restriction to the intake tract as well as add ~10lbs to the front of your car.

I bought one of those on e-bay for $14.00 and put an IC in it's place. Worked well and saved me money on IC piping.

If you want the turbo look, but not the turbo, then just buy one of those plastic intefoolers and get an electronic BOV, you'll be the coolest kid at the gay pride parade.

i want an "intercooler" that actually works in the front and no thanks i don't need no interFoolers and electronic Bov, who needs an plastic InterFoller that sits right infront of the radiator to block airflow? . It is the Intercooler that i'm interested in.

Sure!
1. It's pointless and retarded just like everyone has said.
2. It will restrict airflow, add weight, and look silly.
3. You don't have a turbo, so what the **** are you going to do when people ask you to pop the hood of your madd tyte turbo car?

Why don't you make up your ******* mind here? Do you want an "intercooler that actually works", or "I'm not looking for any performance gains"? You've said both, so what the hell is it. You even went as far as saying "i dont need no interFoolers" which is exactly what you're doing, except you're ignoring what EVERYONE is saying.

Honestly, don't give honda people a bad name becuase you're some broke kid who wants to make their car look faster than it actually is. GTFO with this ricer bullshit.

all i'm wondering is whether it is possible to put an intercooler in place of the front mount intake filter. I'm looking for an yes or no answer, why do people have to make things complicated here?? yes i know i'll add someweight to my car and no i don't mind popong my hood. I just want to know would that cause my engine to die faster. a simple yes or no would do, if it is a yes could anyone tell me WHY? that's what i'm asking, i'm not asking wut my Peeps would think.... clear?

If you plan on running it without an air filter at all, you would suck up tonnes of dirt, sand, and rocks.
