d15b vtec runs like crap on cold startups.? please help.
I have a 93 civic lx, with d15b vtec, when its cold i have to give it some gas to start it up and it wants to die for the first 15 seconds or so, after it gets warmer, not even half a minute idles fine doesnt jump around. what would cause this?? iac? its on the intake mani right? and also when my car is running at normal temp the idle is 1400.... how do i lower this?
Most likely your Fast Idle Thermal Valve located on the underside of the Throttle Body.

To get the idle back down to normal you should fix these issues then reset your base idle. Basically, disconnect your EACV power plug and then use the Throttle Body Idle Screw to set to spec.... ~600-750 rpm I think. Turn motor off, reconnect EACV and reset ECU.

ON Cold start-up, my idle is stays too low and wants to die, it use to be at 2000rpm until it warmed
