Default would a block guard help?

Just had a question, since i'm rebuilding my b16 and i'm putting in oversized ctr pistons... Just wondering if it would be a good idea to put in a block guard, or would it be useless and harm performance? TIA

i really dont see it hurting anything performance wise as long as you have it installed by a machine shop and you dont hammer it in with a rubber mallet. Some people say it causes the car to overheat but i think thats BS

I hear blockguards are worthless, and plus you have a B16 motor with a perfect ratio.

Not really over heating issues, but it creates a hot spot on the top of the cylinder, where it more likely to cause detonation. This is probobly a rare event, but it is something to ponder and consider. It does make sense to me.

Where does a sleeve have problems usually? I.e.... will a blockguard even do you any good? I've heard that moset sleeve problems are at the bottom of the sleeve... can anyone confirm/deny this?
