Default Worth buying newer head?

Soon I will be buying a Vtec head for my project. I was planning on going with the b16a2 from a 99-2000 Civic SI. I decided Im going to completley upgrade the head before even using in.

This will include:

P & P buy Endyn (probably)
Eibach Springs
Endyn oversized valves
titanium retainers
Crower cams (probably)

The motor it will be mounted on with be a b18b block sleeved and bored to 84.5mm running a CR right around 10.1, I will also be riuning 1 bar of boost. Is it worth the extra money to get a low mile head, or should I just find an enexspnsive 1st gen Vtec head?

it would cost you more,
but there will be no down time of your car....

it'll be good if your going a hybrid motor vtec...

Down time isn't a concern, Im starting with a bare block, and still have my current motor in my car. So do you think I should just pick up a heap high mileage 1st genetration vtec head, or find a low mile SI head?

I opted for a newer head, even though I changed out the springs and retainers.

Things like the Lost Motion Assembles and rockers get wear also...so the newer the les wear. Also I didnt wanna change the valve seals..and with the newer head all of the seals are perfect

HX_GUY, how much did you pay for your head, if you don't mind me asking?

$430 shipped from Oregon to Arizona

Its a 1999 SI head, checked out in great shape. LMAs are nice and stuff, valves have no oil on them at all (good valve seals). It came with a valve cover and the guy threw in SI spark plugs also cause of a hassle that came up. There were a few bolts missing, but that cost around $15 and I got new ones from Honda.

Yeah, Eibach makes more than just springs for lowering your car. You can buy them through Crower, they are said to be the best (don't quote me on that) by Crower and Endyn.
