wiring an o2 sensor
i got my b16 swap like 2 years ago, never had an o2 sensor in,never had wires for it.now i am ls/vtec turbo and i think i should go ahead and install an o2 sensor now,but i have no clue where to begin on that.what wires should i look for in the harness?im sure its probably there i just need to find it and put on a new connector
if its no where to be found can i go directly to the ecu and wire it from there?
i have searched for a few days now and havnt found much relating to what i need..

can you possibly snap a piscture if you have time

or can you just tell me what color wire(s) they are??thanks

let me rephrase my question.
which chassis harness are you using? (ie from the shock towers to the ECU)
I assume you are talking about the engine's harness that came with the B16.
which model civic do you have? (matters for O2 wiring)

your not going to have the heater wire for the 4-wire O2 then.
the O2 connector on the engine should be clipped below the intake manifold just above where the O2 sits in the header.
All though it could be tucked anywhere in that area if it was unclipped and stashed.
your chassis harness has the O2 signal wire running to the 10pin connector on the passengers side (white wire) and it should match up with the engine's harness to the right wire. (white)
the heater wire needs to be run, same connector but orange/black wire. it needs to run to A6 of the ECU.

ok so i have a 4 wire o2 sensor.there aere 2 black wires,1 white wire,and 1 green wire.
i have no existing o2 sensor connection that i can find.i have that black/orange wire in the ecu,its there.
do i splice the wires from the o2 sensor into the white,orange/black wires?
i dont know where those 2 black wires go...ground?

green - O2 ground - ECU-D22
white - O2 signal - ECU-D14 (white at shock tower, sheilded wire needed, microphone wire from radioshack works well, ground the shield on the connector side not the O2 side)
black - heater - ECU-A6
black - heater - ignition (connector full of yel/blk wires at driver's shock tower, they are all tied together, splice into one)
It doesn't matter which black wire you choose, the heater doesn't care which direction the power flows through it.
orange/black is the O2 heater control wire that connects to the black wire that runs to A6. If you have a CX then you need to run that wire though the firewall. (uless you're one of the lucky ones that has a 93 that has the wires for it)

oooo yea its a '93 CX,i checked it out yesterday and that orange/black was in the A6 spot.
thanks alot for all your help on this, very much appreciated

with a shielded wire there is a center wire that's used to conduct the signal and an outer shield that is used to insolate the signal from exterior electrical noise from everything else that's going on with the engine.
when you strip the end of the wire at the shock tower you need to splice the shield to the ground wire that's used for the rest of the shielded wires.

does it matter where i splice the wires, like can i splice them all where the shock tower is or do i have to splice them at the ecu?
im getting ready to do it,its just so damn hot outside...

well i wired everything up today and it seems everything is working right.before the sensor was installed it was shooting out black smoke from the downpipe ,now it is not since its in...is that a sign of it working right? wooohoo it works
