Hey guys
I have a 95 EG Hatch with a
sohc non vtec ZC engine.
The needle will not go past a quater on the guage.
It will not reach operating temperature unless i hold 2,000rpm at idle for 15-20min(Middle of guage) (fan kicks in) ,,but goes down after driving.
I put in a new oem thermostat (91crxsi-d16a6) but still the same thing...
Running on a po5 ecu
no check engine light
motor is healthy

Any ideas?
Something i should be checking?

I do NOT think my new thermo is faulty because my old one did the same exact thing

My Integra runs a little warmer

 

That's what my integra and crv get to when fully warmed up.

 

That's good. If that needle goes above 3 o'clock you need to get worried.

 

Just wish it would stay up there!
goes back down while driving..
sucks too because im only getting 24-27 mpg c/h and this must be the cause of it.
Ecu Constantly trying to warm up the engine

 

Your thermostat is stuck open. Replace it ONLY with a Honda thermostat.

 

I just replaced it with a new honda thermo.
odd the old thermo did the same exact thing. Only difference is now it warms up to a quater on the guage quicker.

 

As long as you got a Honda thermostat in there, then the gauge is correct.
