will this fit???
will the B16A crank fit into the B18A block? yes it will, but the crank stroke and rod length won't allow the piston to come up enough to really compress the mixture. this is due to the higher deck height of the B18A block (about 10mm more than the B16A block), the different crank stroke (77mm on the B16A, 89mm on the B18A) and the rod length (134mm on the B16A, 137mm on the B18A).
so all in all there would be quite a gap between the piston top at TDC and the deck surface. i'm not really sure how the engine would even run. there wouldn't be any compression off the top of my head, due to the excessive gap.
yes it would go together, but how would it run is another question.

you could get longer rods which will improve the R/S ratio and raise the pistons to the deck height, but that would have to be calculated. there are quite a few variables involved, the deck height difference, the rod/crank distances and piston dome etc. i'm sure it can be calculated accurately but it may take awhile on paper. i took a look at c-speedracing.com, but even that chart needs certain info to give a correct calculation of the C/R, info that i'm not sure of. i'd have to look at one of the manuals i have to even figure out the way to start this equation and of course i don't have time for that right now.
if you get the longer rods (which will be custom) it'll work but i have no idea what the C/R would be. it all depends on the style of piston you use and how long the rod is, then you'll have an exact C/R which you can alter either low or high depending on what rods/pistons you use.
