will any clutch components fail when accidentally releasing clutch pedal in gear?
few months after i replaced the stock clutch and pressure plate of my boosted b16 with an exedy organic clutch and pressure plate, i accidentally release the clutch(as if i'm in neutral) while i'm in first gear. the engine stalled at the same time created a loud metal-to-metal noise like 2 metal slapping together. i didn't just accidentally did it once but twice on the same day, and both times there was this loud metal-to-metal sound as the engine stall. will these two occasions cause any damage to the clutch components like clutch, pressure plate and flywheel?
i'm asking coz i'm trying to diagnose a problem i'm experiencing every cold starts. every time the engine is cold, i would experience an annoying chattering that shakes the entire front end as i release the clutch to accelerate in 1st gear. it's like i'm just starting to drive a manual and it's very annoying already. but after a few minutes of driving and the car has already warmed up, the chattering goes away completely.
i checked the engine mount, replace clutch fluid and bleed but still the same problem. i'm hoping for some last minute solution so i can avoid having to bring the car to a mechanic for inspection which will last for about 2 days and i use the car everyday.
thanks for any help.
