Default wierd delayed starting problem.

Ok i've got some bizzareness.

basically I'll turn the key to the on position, but before cranking the motor,
and nothing will happen. No lights come on, no fuel prime or anything.

then after a few seconds, the lights will come on, it will prime, and the car will be ready to start up no problem.

usually happens in the morning.

any thoughts?

Check to see if wiggling the key makes any difference. If it does, check out the electrical portion of your ignition switch. They can get flaky.

Otherwise, check your main relay for intermittent bad contact. Maybe re-solder the contact points. There's a good description of that somewhere around here.

thnx, i've got two mainrelays,
opened em both up, they both look the same, and I could find no bad solder points.
pretty sure its not that.

hasn't done it in weeks now so I dunno what it was all about, but so far i've only been able to come up with either the main relay or ignition switch as the culprit.

so if it does it more I guess i'll look into that!
thanks
