I have a 94 Ls with a 2000 Ls motor that has been running fine since the swap (about 40k miles, and two years). I drove 6 hours today from Mississippi to Georgia and the car drove great the whole way.

About two hours after going home I tried to go get some food and the car wont start. All of the accessory lights inside the car turn on and the radio works. When I turn the key to the start position the radio cuts off but aside from that nothing happens. No clicking, no cranking....any ideas?

Check main relay, and fuses.

 

Ive checked the fuses. How do I check the main relay? I thought about just trying to jumper the starter...I really think it is just something wrong with the ignition switch or the relay/wiring.

your radio stayed on while starting but now shuts off while trying to start you say?

 

When there is no clicking usually its the main relay. heres a link on how to test.

Main relay is located under dash at the driverside kick panel, it should be gray or black with about 6-8wires (cant remember) going into it.

 

If I turn the key to the on position everything comes on including the radio. When I turn it further to the start position the radio is no longer powered, its not a factory radio but I believe it has always done this. Thanks for the relay link, to be honest I do not even know where it is. I may have to try to get a haynes manual for it.
