I got a usdm h22 swap in my car. I was curious where i coudl locate a vin number so i can car fax it? yeah someone ehelp me

 

It is on the dashboard. Driver side, close to the window. You can see it from outside the car.

 

on a b series motor, its jus above da oil pan in da front of the block. behind da exhaust manifold, not sure if the h series vin would be der

 

If it's a JDM motor, odds are you'll not find a VIN on it, and if you do, carfax won't have it recorded anyway.

 

I think only the 1996 and newer UDSM motors and trannys have a vin tag on them. I am not shure if any of the JDM motors or trannys have a vin tag.

 

its a usdm 2000 h22 motor....curious where to locate it

 

I will look at a USDM h22 at work on monday to be shure... but it is usually on the front of the engine, along the bottom of the block along where the oil pan bolts on. If it were there it would be obvious because it looks just like the vin tag on the dash, rivets and all. If it has been removed you should still see where it was riveted on.

 

if the motor is sitn in the car....is it along the front where it bolts on...or would i have to climb under the car and itll be along the back?

Just as most others have said, I have no idea on the H22 (as I rarely ever work with them) but on a '96+ B series they're on the front of the block directly below the dipstick port (behind the header)... On the newer D xeries they're located on the back side of the block directly under the alternator mounting brackets... I'm guessing that it's most likely on the front, if it has one Sorry I couldn't help ya more... Good Luck
