Hi,
Topic should have been "WHAT is this sensor..." sorry!
There's a sensor on the intake manifold side of my B20Z block and I'm not sure what it is. It's the only sensor I've come across that doesn't appear to 'unplug'.
It's near the center of the block (IM side) and it has 2 (maybe 3) wires going into it. It looks like the only way to remove it, is to remove the entire sensor assembly by using a wrench....since is has a hexagonal-nut shape underneath the rubber wire sheath. Does anybody know what this is? I don't have a Helms yet...
Also, where is the knock sensor on the B20Z? What does it look like? This sensor thing above is keeping me from disconnecting the engine wiring harness...since I don't really want to cut the wires to the sensor incase I need to use it again..
It's shaped like this:
-----IM----------
------------------
block
_
/ . \ <-sensor
\ _/
-------------------
The dot ( . ) is where the 2 wires enter...the whole thing is covered in a rubber sheath..
Thanks for you help...

OK, so how should I remove it? Cut the wires to it? I'll be using a 95 LS ecu, so I don't think it will be checking for a knock sensor.
If it has a rubber boot on it, it is the oil pressure switch! It only has one wire, and the boot comes off, and unplugs!! The sensor in the previous pic is the knock sensor, and is above the OPS.
Don't cut it!!

The one I am talking about is just below and to the left of the one in the pic. It does have only one wire going to it. It must be the oil pressure switch then....but how do you unplug it, so I can fully disconnect the wiring harness?
