where do i check valve adjustment?
I have a quick question about valve adjustment...
In a B16a, where is the propper place to set the valve gap? On my other engines, i have always taken the readings from right under the adjustment screws, but i saw a picture of someone putting the gauge between the actual cam lobe and the lifter... I'm assuming the readings would be different if measured in both places. Where is the correct place to do it? I want to adjust the valves on my new B16, but i want to do it right the first time.

between the camlobes and the lifter is the correct spot to check the clearance.
C-speed has a nice tutorial for DOHC VTEC motor valve adjustments.
FYI- as far as the tool to use, I had vice grips and a deep 10mm socket the first time, worked okay. Then I had a guy weld a box wrench to that deep socket, at an angle kinda, to make the tool a permanent one, and it costs a total of 8 bucks and some welding...
