i was just wondering if a valve adjusment would affect piston to valve clearance?

 

It will if the valve lash is set too tight. And in case you're not already aware of this, p/v clearance should be checked with vtec lobe locked.

 

yea i locked the vtec lobe when i clayed my motor.

 

In case you were wondering, if its close enough to where the valve adjustment makes or breaks the clearance, its too close.

You should account for a normal valve lash when doing your claying, go too big to make clearance and you'll lose lift, go too small and you'll ride the valves open. Neither is any good.

 

when i clayed the motor it had .050 clearance, do you guys think it will be safe, i adjusted the valves yesterday and they seemed a little tight.
