when does vtec kick on in a 92 honda civic vx..
i have a 92 honda h/b -vx baby motor d15 vtec, just wanted to know at what rpm should my vtec kick in.
i tested mine and it clicks on at 3.000 rpm? why
should i get at 92-95 ex computer.. or what should i do it runs like crap. but when i unpluge the vtec plug it runs great .... help me out

yes, vtec-e but not sure on when it engages? Why would u try to race a vx. Its almost as bad as my cx

Sounds about right.The engine is built for fuel economy.I drove mine for a year before swapping a ls turbo in it.Anything you do to this car will make it slower.The ecu is very specific to that engine/car.An exhaust leak or modified exhaust will make it slower.A k&n filter will make it slower.Swapping a d-series tranny with lower gears is about all you can do to speed that car up.The car was faster and got better fuel mileage using regular unleaded,it hated premium fuel.Does it pull a code with the vtec plugged in?
