whats up with my cooling system?!
after many days of trying to get to the bottom of my overheating problem i finally found what was causing it....today when i bled my radiator for around 45 min and i felt a large bubble escape my lower radiator hose and finally felt warmth in normally cold feeling hose...i was stoked and also found that my fan turned on after never working since day one....after i felt that i conquered my problem i drove the car around and when i went to feel the lower hose it was cold again!? wtf! did i miss some air that is still trapped? or did it cool down as i drove....? setup is as follows--B18C-R all stock with ITR KOYO radiator....need advice asap...thanx
try this, just let it get as hot as possible and crack open the bleeder on the thermostat housing. leave it open until its a steady stream.
i had the same problem with my car. if you are using the itr upper radiator hose, make sure that it doesnt stick up higher that the radiator cap. the cap has to be the hightest point. Kind of hard to explain but youll see what im talkin about.
hrm i have had and worked on JDM b16s and b18s and they had bleeders, i dunno. I guess just keep squeezing the hoses with the rad cap off and do it until it stops bubbling
did that for over an hour yeasturday....im thinkin it got warm since i let it idle and then when i drove it it cooled cus of the radiator doin such a good job of cooling....dunno...cant imagine there bein another bubble after that long of bleeding?
when i get home im gonna let it idle for awhile with the cap on and see if it overheats and iff the thermo opens and if the fan goes on and such...i hate this ****! its the only thing that is "wrong" with my motor
