Overheating problem?

Overheating problem?
i have a 00 si and i just got done putting a new thermostat in.. well the problem is the car overheats when i turn the heat off.. the lower radiator hose never gets hot which mean the thermo never opened. so my guess is that i have a fat air pocket in my coolant right by the thermostat... i know the thermo is good because i have taken it out and boiled it. plus i am on my second honda oem one. so what do you guys think it is.

and i followed step by step
1)turn heat on full blast
2)take radiator cap off
3)start car
4)squeze upper and lower hoses at same time to extract air
4)add coolant as needed

take a garden hose with a nozzle and press it firmley into the radiator cap opening.. and spray it so it builds up alot of pressure then let off of it and step back.. be prepared to get wet. but it will force any air out and fix your problem

well i fixed but i did not have to use a garden hose.. i just tried again the conventional way and it just happened to work this time

yea...
Jack the car up from the front as high as possiable
Take Radiator Cap off
Turn the heat on full blast
When the car started to get hot i would rev it up to like 1500 to help the air out of the system
