One is smaller than the other.

I never hear honda people using small block and big block though, but I'll try to explain in Chevy terms....... Chevy 305ci/350ci/400ci/383ci/etc. motors are considered small blocks cuz they're the GM's smaller displacement V8 engines and their motor mounts are all the same. The big block Chev V8 is like the 454/502/630/etc cubic inch motors which obviously have a larger displacement.

I guess if you put it in honda terms, the D/B-series would be small blocks and the H/F-series would be big blocks. I don't know where the K series would be, and the C-series would be in a class of its own.

If you made a mistake and wanted to know the difference between a shortblock and a longblock, then:
Shortblock=Block
Longblock=Block with head attached to it.

A 350 is 5.7 litres I think, so 454 would be around 7.5 litres.

61.024 ci = 1 liter
or...
1ci = .016387 liter

454, etc. and old domestice engines are measured in cubic inches (ci), whereas now they're measured in cubic centimeters (1000cc=1 liter).
