1. Is your ecu chipped/socketed ?
2. What software is your ecu's map made on ?
3. Do you own a datalogging interface cable ?
4. Do you own a wideband oxygen sensor ? If not, you should get one.

NepTune, eCtune, Hondata, Crome. You can datalog with all of these softwares or get FreeLog to use with Crome.

You can also get the TunerView LCD display for any of these softwares as well which will show you real-time data without needing the laptop.

He's going to need more than software.

1. You need a Chipped ECU - Visit one of these sites and read up on what a chipped ECU is and what you need. Moates.net, Xenocron.com, phearable.net
2. You will need software as mentioned above NepTune, eCtune, Crome, SManage.
3. You will also require an interface cable ie. the Moates Hulog
4. What wide band Oxygen Sensor did you buy? Innovate, PLX, NGK......
