Icon2 Newbie when it comes to chip ecu?

I just got my JDM P30 ECU chip thru Xencron. They have sent me an extra chip. I was looking at my ECU. I notice there is no socket for a laptop plug in. Is there already a base map installand how can I adjust any setting or do I have to get another chip burn and reinstall? I also have an AEM Wideband waiting to get install so I'm lost with this whole chip ECU thing.

If you ordered a basemap you have a basemap on it. You need a chip burner to be able to make changes. With that chip burner you can read the chip in as well and see what's on it.

if you wish to datalog you need a laptop, a datalogging cable and the connector for the datalogging cable soldered into the board. (if it's not all ready there)

You will need to contact Xenocron to find out which program he used to create your basemap and if datalogging is enabled.

I think you were refering to the Moates Demon, it is a device that combines datalogging, emulation and a few other features into one device, not required to datalog.

The Demon will allow you to tune in real-time, datalog in real-time with a laptop, and if you get the NepTune RTP software bundle it will also allow On-Board datalogging where you can set it up to automatically save datalogs on the device so you can download them later with a computer. I think that's what you were referring to.

If you just want to be able to datalog with a PC, all you need is what he mentioned above.

Just getting an eCtune chip doesn't entitle you to the software or tuning package. eCtune's Pro package requires an Ostrich and doesn't allow you to burn chips. You won't be able to modify the bin you have if that's the case.
