What's missing from this distributor?? Pic Inside...
Alright... I am in the process of pulling the MSD ignition from my car, as it is causing problems...
Pulled the cap and rotor and discovered this huge gaping hole where something obviously is missing. So it looks like from acuraautomotiveparts.org that I'm missing the stock coil, but I can't really see what else?

It looks like I've still got the ignitor; I think that's the thing that the wires attach to, but I really have no idea...
Any thoughts???

Yes, was using an external blaster coil...
So in theory, I should be able to pick up a coil, and wire it back in, and she should start right up??
Should I buy a genuine OEM coil or will an Advance Autoparts-type coil be sufficient??

Dunno. That's why I'm asking questions...
But I'm thinking that there may be a problem with the MSD coil, so I want to put everything back to stock to try to eliminate my spark cut problems...

use oem please, aftermarket is nothing but problems with electrical. ya you should be able to slap a coil in, wire back in the three wires and be all set, and put rotor back in
It has been well documented that the OEM coil sucks. That being said it is also know that the aftermarket ignition control boxes will cause problems if not setup correctly. I had a Crane ignition box on mine (CD, MS) and it worked great for 2 years, never had one problem. If you have an aftermarket coil just wire it up and make sure you have a good cap. I would recommend an MSD external cap and the coil connection is molded to the cap thereby removing chances of damage due to vibration.
CD = Capacitive Discharge
MS = Multi-spark
