brand new honda thermo-do you think i filled the coolant wrong or improperly?

 

that is alot of post to ask a question like that.
thermostat is bad even if it is new. i have seen it happen

 

? for you how do you know it is inop?

 

Put it in a pan of water and boil it, you should be able to see it open. If it doesn't take it back. I have seen them bad brand new but usually Stant.

 

 

IF THE THERMOSTAT IS NOT OPENING,THE LOWER HOSE IS ALWAYS COLD.

Bad unit?
Installed backwards? (is this physically possible?)
Very low coolant level?

 

Was the system clean before you installed it?? I Put in a new thermo one time, but I had all kinds of crap in the system from rusted lines, so it immediately got stuck again with debris.

Since then I have replaced all coolant lines and flushed the system thoroughly
